Superintendent's Fall Message

Dear Robla Community,

I can’t believe it’s already October! The year was off to a fantastic start, and this month has already been packed with exciting moments. During my visits to our schools, I’ve been excited to see students fully engaged in their classrooms and having a great time on the playground. They’ve not only been mastering new skills but also discovering fresh interests and building new friendships.

We’ve successfully wrapped up our 10-day attendance challenge, and I must say, it was a tight race right up until the very last day! A big congratulations to Robla Elementary School! I also want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued partnership in making sure our students are present and ready to learn each and every day. Your dedication is deeply appreciated.

As we step into October, we continue to celebrate Latin Heritage Month, a time to honor and recognize the diverse cultures, rich histories, and invaluable contributions of the American Latino community. Our celebrations included a lunchtime concert at every school site, a fantastic Latin Heritage Parent Empowerment Dinner on Thursday, October 3, featuring performances by Glenwood students, a talented Mariachi band, traditional dancers, and the presentation of our first-ever Dolores Huerta Character Award to deserving students. We were also honored to have Councilmember Eric Guerra as our keynote speaker. Be sure to check your school’s calendar for other upcoming events!

Lastly, I’d love to hear your feedback! As we prepare to apply for the Community Schools Grant, your input is incredibly valuable. Please share your thoughts on how we can better support the needs of our school communities. Keep an eye out for a survey that will be sent after we return from Fall break. Thank you!

I hope you all have a fantastic Fall Break! School will resume on Monday, October 21. Just a reminder, there will be no school on Friday, November 1 for Staff Development Day.

 Sincerely,
